I post to about 70 blogs not all the time but spread over the month I post to most of them, they all have PR between 4 and 6 and I always stay on topic with the posts and blogs, this generates good back links to my sites and because these blogs are on topic the weighting is good but how many is too many and can there be too many.
If you are using wordpress, I am not sure whether the backlinks are followed or give weightage. Check the source of the site and see whether "nofollow" is on it.
yeah most of those blogs are going to give you nofollow tags which prove meaningless in the SERPS, instead try making a name for yourself on a bunch (not 70, try 5-10) and then emailing the webmasters and getting an actual backlink somewhere on their site.. this will prove much more effective over the long term.
To prevent blogspam, most have nofollow links. Unless you have 5-15 successful blogs right now, there's no reason to have 70. They're going to be poorly maintained.
If you have a blog, and want it to be successful you should update it once or more per day. If you can achieve this with multiple blogs, then you should be doing it.
There isnt at all a necessity to have and maintain 70 blogs until you have actual time to maintian them. I have seen that a maximum of 5 blogs have been daily updated and that would be a lot em a good blogger.

and the OP post on this thread should be 1 was it? anywa, back to topic,
thinking on how many blogs that depends on how much can handle, as already mentioned above, this just basically the time you can have them with effort, but as long as it is earning why not
If you can write that much and handle it all, then I don't see anything wrong with it. What I might suggest is hiring some writers or buying articles as well so that you can update blogs more often than you can on your own. If you make money off your blogs then this can be a really good thing, as the more often your blog is updated the more often readers will visit it.
it seems like everything these days has a blog attached to it... i keep trying to get a good one going and i always fail miserably but i would say the best move is to only do as much as you can handle.... if you have wide interests maybe a few but if you can stick with just one and add more categories that might also work... just do whats right for you ;D
That would be far too many for me to handle i must admit but if you can manage them all yourself then go for it i dont think it matters how many you have.
