I'm starting a CSS / Web development blog. I have a lot of questions.

First, what is the best Syntax Highlighting plugin? I was looking through the plugins in the codex archive, but one thing I'm concerned about is that I have the newest WP version, and a lot of these plugins seems to be over a year old. How can I be sure they are compatible?

What are the best and most common plugins? Are the plugins that add the buttons that allow your users to submit your article to places like del.ico.us good to use?

What spam prevention plugins are good?

A big question I've had is this - For a while, I've had the wish to allow guest bloggers on the site. Is it possible syndicate writers articles from an offsite blog (with their consent of course)? Is it possible to allow users of my site to publish articles with my permission?

Thanks a lot, that's exactly what I needed.

The only questions that I couldn't find an answer for were: A good syntax highlighter, and allowing my users to post articles / syndicating articles from other blogs.

I don't know about those other things, but there are some people over there with a lot of wp knowledge.
