Thinking about launching a personal blog soon ... got a domain + skin sorted...
What I'm after is basically some comments on my theme =) before I get this blog going!

Thanks all.

Overall, the design of the site looks pretty **** good. I have a few recommendations.
1. In the header and Title tag, replace MTBlake.com with what your blog will be about aka "Web Publisher Blog by Matthew Blake" or something.
2. Allow users to Digg, Technorati, Delicious your sites.
3. Add a pic!
4. Not sure what that Insert name here... and Insert email here... thing is
Also try to be dedicated and update your blog on a daily basis if possible. Fresh, quality content will ultimately determine the success of your site.
Good work!

Yes, I agree with the previous poster, the theme looks real good. I would start to work on adding content to the site. Are you gonna add any ads to the site?

Theme is ok. It's not eye catching or attention grabbing.. but I can't quite put my finger on why.
Blogs are all about the content though, and it looks OK - so get posting!

Allow users to Digg, Technorati, Delicious your sites.
Is there a plugin for this? =)
I will be adding a pic ... once I get it started =) I'll take one.
As for the add question - maybe if someone requests for advertising information, but seeing as it's a personal blog - it's unlikely.

I'm not sure, but if you do provide quality viral posts, it'll be easier for people to vote for your article if you have those following Digg, Technorati, Delicious buttons.

Why not start with Contextual (adsense or YPN)?

Nicely layed out blog. Just keep working on the content and you will be okay. I chop and change my blog so it is a continuous project.
Cheers

Really? I'm using firefox, and I see nothing wrong :/ could you take a screenshot please?

It's more of a fun blog, not a commercial thing - but I'll think it over =)
Nicely layed out blog.
Thanks =)

Thanks, anyone else experiencing this?
Looks fine in my Firefox browser...
If others are experiencing this .. I'll have to get the guy who coded it to fix the bugs.

The black color on top doesn't look good with the rest of the design/colors. The green and bue colors looks ok together, but when you add a big piece of black it starts getting a bit bad. I would replace that black with a light blue and keep the font color black instead of white.
The post details (Published on 17 June 2006 at 12:45 pm) are hard to read because the font is blue and so is the background.
Instead of using "Update Me", use the normal "subscribe to the newsletter" or something like that. Some people might not understand what the "update me" thing means, and the subscribe feature is world-wide-known.
An idea: instead of using the MTB image to go along with each post, you could try to replace it with the category that the post is included in. You could still use the MTB image but as a favicon.
Some basic things that are missing:
RSS feed icon
contact page
Good job :1eye:

Here's a plugin how to.
BTW, your blog seems to be missing a footer?
