I have minimal experience w/WP but have figured out (w/some help from my son) how to get the theme of choice on my domain. One of my blogs I wil let sit on blogger.com and chose to use my time for new project. My other blog needs to be transfered over before I develope it any further. (I just got it its own domain).

Please help me with any (VERY simple) instructions/suggestions re: transfering a blogger.com blog to a WP blog. Just thinking about it brings on anxiety attack symptoms!!

Another WP question....
Once I add someone to post on my blog, how do they access the blog to post on it? I can't quite figure that out.

I can only answer to your last question, because I did not understand the first one.

You just need to give him your password and user name, and he will be able to post on your blog from anywhere.

Hi,
To transfer your blogger blog to wordpress, do the following:
1. Login to your wordpress account.
2. Click "Import". (should be in the top header towards the right end.)
3. Choose the blog type you wish to import. In this case "blogger".
4. On the next page there are security instructions and a login form.
5. Follow safety instructions. Then enter your blogger login name and password in the form shown in wordpress.
Click the start button. DO NOT close the window until the process is complete. Most probably wordpress will give you a success message after the import is done.

Once this process is successfully completed, your posts on blogger will be imported to your new wordpress installation.

About the second question.
1. Login to your WP account.
2. In the same header, click "USERS". On the next page, You will see a second menu just below the main menu.
3. Click "Authors and users".
4. Here there is a little form where you can create a new user. Create one! After creating you will return to the same page again. This time new user will be shown here.
5. Checkmark the box next to this new user you just created.
6. Just below the user are 2 options (radio buttons). The second one assigns author permissions to the user. (By default WP assigns "subscriber")
7. Click the radio button, from the drop box next to it, choose "editor" or "author" , (any one), and click update.

Now this user can login to your wordpress account from the same page you are using to login. His username will be the "nickname" you typed when creating this user. Password, whatever you typed when creating the user.
Login page will be:
http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php
for both of you but different usernames, passwords and administrater authorities.
If you give administrater authority to others,or your password, they might change your password and then you are like banned from your own blog.
Give author permissions only.

Additionally, you might also want to use custom, (virtual), perm url's. By default wordpress uses something like this domain.com/index.php?p=65 . This is not very search engine friendly. You can make this look like:
"domain.com/posttitle.html" from your admin panel as well and changing the .htaccess file with the code that WP gives.

Bye

Importing Blogger.com's to WP should be straightforward nowadays especially since WP have integrated the import features for it.

The users who you have added access can login to the blog just like you do, but with their user name and password.

If you have any problem, just update us.

I will be trying this today. Since it is so challenging, it helps to have an uninterupted block of time so I can focus.

Thank you for the help. I like that they have their own account. Where do they sign up to get their user name and create a password, on the WP site?

I imported a blogger site in wordpress quite recently.

One gotcha is that the wordpress import expects your blogger account to go to a blogspot subdomain.

If you have been exporting your blog to your own domain then the import will fail (failed for me anyway).

To get around this change your blogger export options to goto yourblog.blogspot.com and you should be ok.
