Alright, I have a few questions pertaining to upgrading it, as I have not done so yet.
  1. Will upgrading it take the site momentarily offline?
  2. If you miss an update, does it automatically install all the features you may have missed from the previous ones?
  3. And also, how often do you guys upgrade your version? I haven't really noticed any significant changes from the last time (from my previous Top10 CMS).
Thanks

1. Yes, but only for a moment. It takes me about 10 seconds to update.
Be advised that all plugins should be disabled during the upgrade process.

2. Yes, you can skip updates. All updates have the previous fixes/adds.

3. I don't update every single time. Only if there are major security fixes.

However, I did update to the new 2.5 because I heard so many great things about it.
I'm glad I did. I really like the new admin interface. The only thing I don't like about it
is that they took away the drag&drop feature on the widgets page.

Thanks Lance,

I should say that I have the automatic upgrade plugin, too, so it probably takes even less time.

Is the 2.5 Version out right now? Don't think I updated to that yet.

Yep, it was officially released a couple days ago. Here's a list of new stuff added...
http://wordpress.org/development/200...ss-25-brecker/

One thing to look out for is the automatic plugin update. If you update a plugin
and it disappears from the list, that means the plugin wasn't zipped correctly by
the creator. That happened to me yesterday with one plugin. It was zipped one
folder too deep.

Go for it. I think you'll like it.

I want to update to 2.5, but haven't done it yet. I should sometime in the near future. I've been hearing positive things about it.

James everything Lance said is how the upgrade goes. It's a little scary the first time you do it, but it's pretty easy. Just remember to make copies of any file you've customized. Chances are that's only your theme, but if you did make changes to files outside wp-content back them up so you can add your changes back (if you want) after the upgrade.

Jeez, I forgot to mention that. Thanks vangogh.

I've had no problems so far, but I always make a backup of my root folder
and database. Just in case I accidentally overwrite a customized file, I'll
have a backup of the file to put back.

I do the same thing with the backup. I actually have changed one or two files so I have to make sure to hold onto those changes. Nothing major, but still I don't want to have to figure it all out again.

I'm more concerned with upgraded plugins since I hack those quite a bit.
