I have developed a new domain name and it offers small, medium, and large blogs a great way to get traffic. You simply post part of your blog at Blog Engage and when the users select the post it will bring them right to your blog!

Please feel free to start posting your blogs and as many as you would like.

Blog Engage is a special site because unlike digg we allow and promote the idea of getting other users to vote for your topics so also feel free to ask for vote exchange in the correct forums if allowed!

This will also help build you more traffic if people like your blogs that is HAHA

Well cheers and I hope you enjoy the new site, use it to your benefit!

Thanks again bbrian017

brian,

You should change the Pligg logo in the favicon and other places to your own.

Nice site, I've been wanting to make a pligg site for a while now.

Thanks and you're right I should change the images but I can't do images worth crap that's why I allow the bloggers to create or upload their own avatar

I also own another site that is ran from pligg but it's not getting the attention like blog engage is. I'm not to sure why but blogengage has went throught the roof!!

I know what you mean. But at least change the default pligg "P" image with maybe an image of a "BE" for Blog Engage. If you need help with making them let me know or you can post in the graphics forum or start a contest to get a logo and some small default images made. As for the avatars you can probably find some royalty free image packs you can use to make them available for your users.

What's your other pligg site if you don't mind me asking. I like seeing the different ways people are using it. Have you looked at phpdugg? It doesn't have all the features that pligg does but I like the default template.

But maybe this one isn't taking off because people don't understand? You're using it as a sort of blog directory but the site doesn't really say "directory" to me. I'd change the words news to blog> Submit a new blog, Upcoming Blogs, Sort Blogs by popularity, Blog Categories yadda yadda yadda.

Also your faq/about page linked on the top right module goes to information about Pligg. If someone is reading what BE is about and clicks "read more" they'd expect to read more about BE not about Pligg and the Pligg license. Know what I mean?

Yes this is all on the things to do list and some ideals I didn't even think about. I love the idea about Submit new blog" etc... Awesome and will be done right now!

I know there’s still some work to do I just wish I had more time. Launching these sites and real life are so had to do J

My other pligg site (which I don't know if I will keep) is named yawoop it and it can be found here @ www.yawoop.com

there's an image that says yawoop "it" far left!

I have also just bought the domain name, www.flickvotes.com and will be developing that into a pligg site as well! It will be only movies and that's it.

Blog Engage is for Bloggers tho and only bloggers

Thanks everyone it's been going great. With over 500 members now blog engage has turned into a really nice community of bloggers.

It's a blast owning such a great site!

Brian,

Do you mind if I ask how much it cost you to get your theme? I've seen other work by the people who did yours that I really liked but I wonder how pricey they are. You can PM me if you need to with a price range of what their custom work costs.

How hard or easy it is having a site with Pligg? I've been wanting to start a Pligg site for a while but the forum looks really convoluted and there seem to be complaints all over the place.

Have you played with phpDugg? I like the simple theme better but their forum is like molasses and doesn't have many feautres.

Does Pligg have external buttons where your members can place them on their blog to get and display their votes?

The price on my Template, (NON CUSTOM) meaning 20 are being sold. 115 USD and thats with color customization from csmthemes. Adsense modules, and a few other really cool things. One really important thing I like about using cmsthemes is he has great support and provides free upgrades to new pligg releases and that's extremely important when running a beta software in a live site environment. I'm playing very risky business here if you think about it.

Q. How hard or easy it is having a site with Pligg?
A. It's very east to own and run a pligg site but you must have background knowledge of php and mysql.

Q.
looks really convoluted and there seem to be complaints all over the place
A. I think this is mainly due to mis communication and stressful/busy real living people. Overall pligg has been a great community to be involved with.

Q. Have you played with phpDugg?
A. Sadly to say I never will! Pligg is an extremely powerful Content Management System I'm hooked for life!

Q. Does Pligg have external buttons where your members can place them on their blog to get and display their votes?
A. yes

Example:
http://www.blogengage.com/blogger/?p=18

Code:
 <p><script src="http://blogengage.com/evb/check_url.js.php" type="text/javascript"></script></p>

Thanks for the reply.

Do they come already "installed" or do you have to create them? I thought they would come with buttons that show the count like on your website and maybe they were available for categories or specific blogs, not just a general button.

Say if I joined BE could I have a button to place on my blog that shows my count and that people can click to see my blog on BE and vote for it when they sign in.

Does what come already installed? The Images for Blogs? If so then yes it's an easy click of a button.

All modules in pligg are a click of a button with a few exceptions. Anti spam mods, e-mail verification. I had to add those manually but I think they are added to the pligg future releases.

See if you go to the page I linked and hover over the image it will show the current amount of votes. If it's clicked the user will sign in and vote for you.

here's another example, http://www.seomkt.com/?p=15

6 votes, did I get all your questions?

Yup I see how it is now. I thought maybe the button next to the "stories" on BE could be exported to a blog. But I see how you've set it up.

BTW have you noticed that the " ' " causes a glitch in the text of the entry on Pligg?

I see what you're saying I don't think it would be too hard to do that. Admin and devs at pligg could help you do it.

" ' " causes a glitch in the text of the entry on Pligg?

Is that when I get all that messed up text. It seems to be only from members using the EVB "button option"

the " ' " where is that found?

When I went to the link to see the EVB in action I hovered over it to see the count. Then clicked on it to see where it would take me and when I landed on the entry on BE the text was messed up where you used an apostrophe.

For example

it's

has extra characters like

it#R%&s

Those aren't the characters that I see but I can't reproduce the ones that show up with my keyboard. BTW I'm using FF.

It's funny you mention this because here I am trying to make pligg look all good when in all reality it is hard to get support sometimes. As you can see from this thread, http://forums.pligg.com/general-help...g-correct.html I have tried to get support regarding this with not reply.
