Every time I post, akismet catches three new sites posting the first few sentences surrounded by "Forrest wrote" and "for more click here." I know I can't be alone; my blog doesn't even get that much traffic.

How do other people see feed scraper sites? Whenever I go check these out, it's always a blog with dozens of posts a day to feed the search engines content. Ironically these sites never seem to get indexed, I put a link back to another post before the <!-----more------> break but it's not actually worth anything. No traffic from any of them.

This doesn't really hurt, so there wouldn't be much benefit from trying to block scrapers somehow. They inflate the stats a little, but I have a calculator.

Some ways I've noticed them:

Copyscape.

As backlinks on technorati.

And in feedburner's uncommon uses tab.

I recently found a guy(or girl) scraping my content through feedburner's uncommon uses and the only reason I got upset and contacted him(or her) was because on their blog they were advertising to pay people to write content for them. It annoyed me that they were claiming to pay people and then scraping my blog.
