The latest post I've made has three photos, and like any other post, I upload the images, use them at full size, and have them link to a page with a description. This works fine in all of my previous posts, but all three images go to a not found page.

When I click the links in FF, they go to the page I would expect. When I use other browsers, I get the 404 page. When I use Firefox on someone else's machine, I get the 404 page. So it sounds like a permission issue, since the difference boils down to me being logged in, and able to see the pages...? I know you can set regular posts to draft or published, but I can't find anything like this for the pages that are generated around images?

Here are the 404 urls:

The one thing I noticed about the Error pages' URL's is that right after the "blog.forrestcroce.com", they all have a "the-boulder-river-wilderness" afterwards, whereas the link that works, doesn't.

Are all the picture posts that don't work suppose to be put under the "the-boulder-river-wilderness", as a subpost of some kind?

Also, the posts that don't work don't have the complete titles in them, just "Fine Art Photography Blog".

I went back and looked for patterns like that, but I think the urls make sense. The three that aren't working are all part of a post called the Boulder River Wilderness; the one that works has a different initial string in the url because it's part of a different post. It seems to use domain/post-name/date/image-title to generate the urls.

When you upload an image, it gives you a series of options ... you can embed a thumbnail or the file you uploaded, you can link to the file itself, to nothing at all, or to a new page that uses the description you enter for the image as the body text. That's always worked in the past ... and what's really interesting is that the three that show 404 errors, work when I'm logged in to wordpress.

Do they still work when you are logged out of wordpress? Maybe there is some sort of privacy issue.

Also, when I'm viewing your 404 pages, your title should say:
>> Waterfall-22-creek | Fine Art Photography Blog

Similar to your other previous post titles.

EDIT: Also, it's a stretch but it might work, you may have changed something code-wise when you hacked into your WP Blogroll, maybe if you undid those changes it might go back to normal, not quite sure about this though.

Hmmm ... good point. I've reverted the changes, and still seem to have the same problem. Interestingly, now it's trying to generate links using ?id=83 instead of the title of the post and image with the date in between them.

I don't know what's going on? It seems like I might have broke my blog installation somehow?

Fixed.

I went to make a backup, and cpanel prompted me to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress. What did I have to loose, right...? Everything works now.

The ?id=83 is the refers to the default permalink structure (that particular page). So something in your code is changing the structure back to the default form, or it reverted back automatically, check your options tab for that difference.

Are there any plugins installed or additional code-changing you edited before you noticed the 404 errors?
