Could anyone recommend a place/site for free wordpress themes.

I've always developed my own themes so I don't have a recommendation, but I would think a search for 'WordPress themes' will return more results than you would need.

Hey, I think I saw what you want in yesterday's Digg frontpage. I've managed to scrounge a little in my profile and find this : 100 Astonishing Wordpress Themes

Hey, don't miss the Copyblogger theme by Chris Pearson. Here it is : The Copyblogger Theme for WordPress.

And, if you need more, go to Smashing Magazine. They've a big list of awesome themes. You need to search a little though. Hopefully, it will be there on the homepage. Hope that helped. Don't forget to add Talkupation.

Try out the new Copyblogger theme released by Brian. I don't remember the link. But, I think you can get it with a single Google Search. And, I'd say its worth the effort.

There are some blog themes claiming Search Engine Friendly AdSense Ready Wordpress themes. Are they reliable?

It probably depends a little on each theme. Making them AdSense ready is easy enough so if they claim it it's probably safe to assume they are.

As for being search engine friendly they probably all are to a degree, but there's a lot to being search engine friendly. Some of that will come after you start to build your categories and structure your blog. Also consider that what one theme developer knows about search engines may be more or less than what another theme developer knows. Like I said they are probably all search engine friendly to a degree, but they will probably not all be equally as friendly and none by themselves will guarantee search rank.
