All I did... was blog about my passion... WITH passion.
While everyone around the blogosphere here in Malaysia seemed to be obsessed about SEO, tweaking with keywords, purchasing various eBooks on Internet Marketing, etc - I made it a point to remain focused on delivering quality content. Content that would make me unique, and an authority in the topic I blog about - which is Health & Fitness. Making money online was never a big deal here in Malaysia when I first started my blog, therefore I'm glad that money was never the motivator for me to start my blog.
Today, my site is dedicated to helping others learn the skills required for one to take charge of their health and fitness, sharing experiences and promoting a better lifestyle. It has over 215 write-ups with more than 2500 comments, and over 1000 daily page views. Today, you can bump into any fitness enthusiast here in Malaysia, and chances are, they would have heard about dailymuscle.com.
As a result of the various accomplishments with my blog, I have also now ventured to obtain a professional fitness certification by the the American Council of Exercise, after which I will be an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. ACE is arguably the most significant force in the field of physical fitness, currently having more than 40,000 certified fitness professionals in 107 countries and is among the most respected in the fitness industry. The ACE certification will give my opinions in my blog a solid voice and take my blog to the next level.
This will also allow me to pursue a professional career in the Fitness Industry when I decide to leave my current job and pursue a career that is closer aligned with my passion.
The dailymuscle.com brand logo has also had the privilege of appearing in promotional media in select Fitness First gyms in Malaysia, and the chance to appear alongside other big brands in a sports nutrition feature in the Malaysian issue of T3 magazine early 2007.
I feel that many bloggers today are starting to forget what it's all about, and have just hopped onto the Internet income bandwagon in the hopes of making a quick buck.
My blog initially started back in April 2005 as a way for me to keep track and record what I was doing and learning in my experience at living a healthy lifestyle and my routine at the gym.
I have always had a genuine concern for the lives of people - those clueless, and in need of advice and help in taking charge of their health. There are so many people out there who just don't know how to get started towards living a healthier lifestyle. I have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others... but never did I imagine I could accomplish it via my blog. My blog has inspired countless people to step out, and make a change in their lives.
You see, taking charge of your health and fitness can have an incredible impact in one's life as it helps you gain confidence, overcome your stumbling blocks, helps you look good (which makes a whole lot of difference to individuals), and as a result, the feedback and response I get can be quite incredible. Not a day goes by where I don't get an email asking for advice. And often, they take the trouble to write back and update me on their progress - be it their weightloss goals, successfully controlling a disease, seeing gains at the gym. Some experience life altering changes, which is a result of their improved health. THIS IS HOW I DEFINE THE SUCCESS OF MY BLOG - by the lives I've impacted.
