Well, sort of. It all started one day as I was looking for some general web development articles to read through. I noticed a lot of these websites I came across were blogs. Well before, I always though blogs were just some site hosted on Angelfire (remember?) that some 15 year-old kid wrote about how much his life sucked.

I was wrong. As I started reading these blogs, I thought that maybe I would start one just to play around. When I kept reading around on how to start a blog, everyone said to start on what you're passionate about. I'm a huge car guy, so I thought I would start one about cars. I started AutomoBlog.net in May 2006 with no intention of making any real money, but it got me started, and is a pretty big success today, bringing me almost enough to quit my day job.

I'm planning to hire a writer as soon as a good one comes around, and hopefully with other projects I'm working on, I can quit my day job in the near future. I had no original intentions of it working out this way, but blogging has brought that possibility into reach.

Thanks Lee,

I hope to make enough to quit my day job soon. I've been keeping up with blogging and plan to expand, but I'm also looking into better ways to start making money online too.

your story is very inspiring. very encouraging to all writers out there to write on their own. I am also an aspiring writer myself but I haven't developed that much because Im busy with my current job, but if ever I had time I would write on blogs and posted articles. Im planning to improve my career writing and be a freelance writer once I have more articles and my own blog site.

That's awesome.. you might want to think twice about hiring a writer though. Your readers are used to your writing and bringing someone else in might ruin that. Good luck!

Hey Egon, Great writing on your mistake. Do you think it was because you were at the right place at the right time? Have you tried buying a .me domain and then selling it at auction? Good Pluck
