BLOG review Please

I've been working on two sites

http://fishforfood.blogspot.com

It's an impromptu creation but it has generated some interesting comments...
Anywhere i could improve on them?

I went to the first site (fishios.blogspot.com) but couldn't get the second link to come up.

Honestly, I took a look at the blog and didn't know what was going on. I was just thoroughly confused from top to bottom. There's a LOT of ads, AdSense, randomness on the left and something that may have been content on the right. I'm not sure. There was a title, then an ad, then a big confusing graphic with letters too small to make out. I couldn't make much sense of it.

I would suggest toning down the ads. 4 or 5 ads that get clicked on - nice on topic ads instead of Bill O'Reilly books like I got -- will provide a lot more revenue than 42 ads and barely any content.

I would suggest reducing the size of the header graphic. Its a nice graphic, but its HUGE.

The multi-colored fish graphic is a little annoying but it doesn't really hurt anything.

All-in-all, I think this site just suffers from Too-Much-Stuff Syndrome. Content is King. Fill your blog with solid content - and give us at least three posts on the front page - then add a couple advertisements to cover costs.

I guess ill start from the top and go down the site. Remember, i fI dont mention it then i think it's good

I like the header image, but the title needs a little touch up. I would suggest cleaning up the shadow as it seems to be a bit removed from the actual letters (there are awkward gaps)

I would suggest pulling up your left sided navigation, otherwise you force the user to look for it and you don't want your readers to work to be able to navigate.

The blinking rainbow fish and those blue tabs seem out of place, they don't seem to fit with the rest of the website.

Below the post "A "Berly" good experiment" there seems to be a lot of things going on. Is that the weather (it's annoying that you have to scroll as it does not fully fir in the iframe)? And the moon phase? If you could find a way to clean these up and put them at the top of your site then they would be a lot more helpful...consider rewriting those. Also center the last ad and your copyright info...

I know this is a lot of stuff but im sure it will help you make a better website.

Looks very good and very unique I like it better then those sites that all look the same because they all bought the exact same template.

Interesting blog, the site looks organized. However, if you are serious about blogging then I suggest you get a domain before your blog traffic grows. And trust me it will grow, since your blog is one of a kind.

thanks mate ... appreciate the pointers and comments... well i did think of that ... but i have already started pushing the site link ... i dont think i wanna go back to square one?

the only difference between a domain and blogger is that the address looks different and i need to pay for a domain? but i am considering to get one tho

And on the comment that adsense pays well for fishing related ads you might have been misinformed... they dont pay that well ... electronics and medical keywords are better...

I think they have a nice design but I agree with some of the comments above. To many ads. I am a huge lover of adsense, I would like to put it everywhere I can! (haha) But it is true you dont want it looking like one big advertisment, besides being a little more subtle will probably increase your revenue.

There doesnt seem to be to much content on the blog. I think the point of a blog is to write posts or articles that people who visit your site will be interested in and read. And maybe come back.

I didnt see any "archives" which I think help someone navigate the site better, more user friendly.

I love the header image that you have with the fish, and nice color choice. It is a nice looking blog, looks like your off to a great start with some minor tweaking. Good Luck!!
