Hey everyone,

For those of you who enjoy my unique brand of twisted commentaries, humour, and the way I yell at people and stupid stuff, well...ah dun made me up a blog! There are only two posts right now, because I just started it today. But don't worry...I'll add more. I never shut up, remember?

www.walkonmypath.com

I know I need to figure out the canonical name thing (which means at some point I need to learn more PHP), and I'm contemplating putting buttons to submit to the more common social media sites on the bottom of each post (haven't made up my mind on that yet), but not sure what else I can do in that regard.

Anyway, if you guys see stuff I can change or improve, holla holla holla fo' da dolla dolla bill, please and thanks.

I think it is really bad designing. The gradients are terrible. Looks so 1999.

TA: you sure are.

Mohammed, whenever you actually have the stones to show us all something you've done and be prepared for the slings and arrows that others will throw at it, I might take you seriously. Until then, your comments are meaningless to me. So you may as well not bother.

Some people don't appreciate someone's hard work due to a severe lack of self-esteem; knowledge and discipline.

To be honest i agree with mohamoud, the design does look very old...

Not only the gradient, but the font you have used as well...

Unless you were trying to achieve an old look... In that case, Looks Great!

Well, the font is that way because at least some of the people looking at it are older. So I wanted to keep them in mind. That, and I didn't want a blog that looked like one of the free templates out there. The colours are the way they are for similar reasons.

I wouldn't say it's a pretty blog, but it's a nice blog. Clean. It's your blog and you walk on your path ... As long as you feel great with your own things. Why not?

I just have one problem on my side. I have super 1920x 1680 screen. Viewing your blog in full screen, I have to turn my head to the right to view the whole line. Not a bad neck exercise for a guy sit in front of computer all the time. ;-)

Keep posting

Look at my gaming blog at xbuw dot com

You can't even compare it to your blog. I can't even believe that you design sites for other people. Everything you design just looks so bad and old. looking at your portfolio, most of your clients have changed there site design or don't exist anymore. Web designing is a art. Not something you can learn from a book.

Nice blog, Adam, well done, I like it and I like the colors. Those who think the site looks 'old' clearly haven't been around the web as long as Me and Gramps !

Well, Mohammed - I looked at your so-called blog, and can't see where you think you're so great; especially with such bland, basic colors and no background except white???...LOL...don't throw stones...

Oh yeah -- I forgot to mention all of the CODE WARNINGS you have that you apparently don't have the G2 Intel north of your shoulders to figure out; much less make your thinga-ma-jig code compliant according to current standards:

No one can judge your art or design until you die and get famous. It's matter of if you feel good about it and like it. Web site is not just about design. If you can design an pretty one, you are just something! It doesn't mean your is fully function. You may have broken logic in your site. Your site may be hacked one day. So?

Just don't see think your site is pretty and function well.

First of all the background is not white it is f5f8f1. Learn your colors. The design is every complex although it looks simple.

Those errors mean nothing. The site works on the current browsers. The content is changing all the time. Look at yahoo or any of the other busy sites. There have errors too. Look at your site. Same content all the time with the 1992 logo. Your site is useless. Why would anybody visit it. Guy you are not on my level. Give up. Let me see a site that you have created with changing content.

* laughs *

Mohammed, you just sank yourself on a few levels. Seriously, how old are you, 18? You can't be that old or you'd understand a few things:

1) My portfolio isn't up to date and hasn't been changed since about mid-2005 (approximation) because there is absolutely no reason for me to update it with the new stuff (and yes, there is new stuff.) But I will update it if you give me one good reason, keeping in mind that I can't take on any new business and don't want it anyway.

"To be in your league" isn't a reason, because you have shown exactly one site to the public, and a site that will target a small niche market of people. Try building something that will appeal to a wide variety of people, and then let's see what happens. Oh, and try to figure out the issues that come with a successful site such as shipping, e-commerce, customer issues that arise from obscure data, how to help your client find staff in a hurry because his business has been tripled, etc.

As far as the sites in question being redesigned or no longer existing, you're right...because I redesigned (or am redesigning) most of them, and the ones that don't exist don't do so for reasons that had nothing to do with the websites themselves.

2) If we're judging on aesthetics, yours looks like snot. The colour of your layout is the colour of snot.

Are you pissed off yet? Is that a silly comment? If you said yes to either, you'll see my point...judging a site strictly on aesthetics is silly. You can't please everyone, and I personally don't try. Someone is always going to hate some aspect of a site as far as aesthetics are concerned.

You judge a site based on its content, based on the effort that the owner has put in, and based on whether or not it appeals to others. Code is a part of that, and the automatic dismissal of coding errors implies laziness. You may not like the looks of what someone like TA or I do, but at least we make sure our houses are on solid foundations.

As far as your content goes, it doesn't look like it's all that successful. You've got a blog with pages upon pages of content with no comments and an empty forum. What does that mean? It means no one's really interested, or not enough to justify what you're doing. I've gotten more comments on my blog in a day than you've gotten in three months, so I must be doing SOMETHING right.

Note: I don't have anything against your content. To be honest, I don't know that much about it. So I won't judge. That's not fair. The point is that others seem to be telling you something by telling you next to nothing.

If I have the time, I may learn WordPress well enough to figure out what I can and cannot do as far as layouts are concerned; I haven't used it before so I didn't want an especially complex layout. If you had bothered to read any further, you'd know that.

So you're right. I'm not in your league. I'm in a different league. There's no above or below here. We're doing different things for different reasons.

You're no better than TravelAgent, myself or anyone else here, so drop the whole attitude thing. It'll kill you if you don't. (You can thank me later.)
