Way too much advertising. It makes it look kind of spammy. Also I agree that you should change to one of the more customizable themes so it looks more unique.

Well, IMO, it's best not to promote until you have made your blog pretty much the best it can be. Otherwise, people will likely be unimpressed and not come back in the future. Plus, you could be denied links at many sites.

Thus, I suggest you clean it up first using the tips I gave above.
