Hi there,

My wife and I redesigned her beauty blog about a month ago. People seem to like the new design overall, but since it went live the comments have begun to decline. Traffic is holding up, but the comments are slowing down.

Anyone have any suggestions for ways to encourage more comments? Right now I'm considering a post footer block with a larger comment icon, but does anyone have any other insights?

Any links to blogs that do a really good job encouraging comments? Thanks in advance.

The blog is www.makeupandbeautyblog.com

I don't think the design can be a reason for the traffic down. :-s It can be your content that makes the traffic go down a bit. Or maybe you lost your rankings if you are ranking a bit. Analyze your traffic stats. It might tell you why it went down.

Design can affect the impressions or visits on all over the blog/site by per visitor but it does not affect on traffic. but your blog is not working here, is this exact Universal Resource Locater... ?

It worked for me. I was thinking there really isn't a way to encourage commenting without actually telling people to do it. At least the way you have it set up right now. You have large letters with comments, but, nothing that says actually how to do it. You could try that.
