For a portfolio site, you're definitely doing nothing wrong. It's very simple.

Although the design is simple I think it looks nice and clean and easy to navigate. But I think you should add some graphics to the landing page.

Hi everyone,

Been a while since I looked back here,
I am very happy to find all this possitive feedback.

Over the next few days I plan on doing a few tutorials on PHP forms, validation, XSS and CSFR stuff. Be sure to check them out.

Not bad, but I would put the about me up in the header and then shrink the text size to blurbs that show more dramatically in contrast to the main background to show up. Nice topics, PHP needs all the coaching for new users it can get.
