Just get a general ASP 3.0 book and that will be sufficient, Dreamweaver doesn't have any secret ASP functions, it just allows you to right plain jane ASP code in it. Dreamweaver just makes ASP coding easy (as compared to notepad of frontpage).

Thx for the reply
your the only one that seems to care about my elementary question

But what you said is not true
dreamweaver mx has alot of database tools that make it easier to make dynamic sites
(im trying them out now and my iss server is acting strangly)
I just want to know if there are any tuts out there that teach me how to use these feature without having to get my hands to dirty in the coding side
Its not that im not willling to learn to code
but the learning curve and the time I need this finished are not in harmony

Yes there are tutorials. Just go to Chapters and buy a book, that would be your best solution. Making an eccommerce site is no easy task whether your using dreamweaver or not. Also DW doesn't make using ASP easier, yes it helps with database connections but those are 2 totally different things. ASP is just a means of displaying the information. You seem to have a lot to learn and a quick tutorial is not going to help you, my suggestion is still to go get a book or, and some people will frown on this suggestion, download one off Kazaa. (Sorry everyone)

My suggestion is - - don't try to do the ASP solution now - - It is not a trivial task and will open you up to lots of work and lots of potential liability (stolen credit cards, etc.).

I suggest instead that you opt for a canned shopping cart solution for the first year and take some classes at your local community college to learn ASP and Database development correctly before you attempt to try your custom built solution.

You can implement a PayPal (Oh NO!! Dreaded word....) solution that is not quite as professional as you might like but (1) it works, (2) it's free (3) it includes a free credit card gateway (4) it runs on a secure server and (5) like it or not it is accepted by millions of consumers today.

If you want a more professional looking solution on a secure server I suggest that you check out Cool Carts at: http://www.coolcart.com/ - cost is $120 a year plus the cost of the 'Credit Card Gateway' of your your choice. Another decent solution is LaGarde Store Front at: http://www.lagarde.com - cost is $480 per year plus the cost of the Credit Card Gateway.

Both solutions have a demo on their website and both offer a 30 day money back guarantee.
