Hi all,
I am trying to create asp in Dreamweaver and this time yesterday
I managed to create a page displaying live data. However tried to create another later in the day and for reasons unknown I can not get the test enviroment to work. I get this error message: "Dreamweaver cannot use the prefix you entered to display live data. Please double check your site configuration or click help for more for more information on how to correct this problem (HTTP error 404)" and clicking help just explains how to set up exactly what I have already set up. So by not being able to create a test server I cannot create a asp page.I have IIS and the files are in their own mysite folder in wwwroot. The url I have to browse my site is http://localhost/mysite/ . Also checked my services and IIS is running fine so I cannot understand why it will not allow me to create a local testing enviroment.
I am using Dreamweaver 2004 on a Win XP MC 2005.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Vega....

Personally I wouldn't worry about it, if it all works when you open it in a browser that's all you need to test with.

Hirst is right. No one's going to view your site in Dr*amw*av*r. They are going to view it through a web browser. As long as the browser works, you'll be okay.

If it doesn't work, make sure ASP is an "Allowed" Web Service Extension (it's part of IIS Manager.)
