Top 6 Ways to Seduce Your Traffic

Keeping your traffic on your site is one of your top priorities, but what do you do with them once you have their attention? Well wine and dine them of course!

Offer Incentives

These are the appetizers that will keep your traffic sitting at the candle lit table. Offering free samples, special discounts, or even sales can give your traffic enough to wet their pallet and raise their interest enough to look for what is the main course.

Good Advertising

Everyone likes pretty wrapping. It’s just like Christmas and being a child all over again. You can have the dullest, least interesting product inside the box, but if you dress it up fancy, it will make the eyes glitter.

By advertising well and with appealing graphics good advertising can bring in new traffic just as well as incentives can.

Brand Name and Quality Recognition

The waiter brings out the wine bottle and shows the label, offering the cork to smell for aroma and a first sample to taste. The label is your store or site name, but the first whiff of the wine and first taste are the marks of quality and appeal. By marketing your brand and quality together you are giving your traffic a sense of trust. Maybe they’ve even heard of you and this invokes brand recognition.

Other ways of gaining trust are including buyer protection programs and authorities that you are registered with. For example, in the US, the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Just make sure that you are actually enrolled with the programs otherwise someone will eventually blow the whistle on you and the last thing you need is for all your work on associating ‘quality’ with your ‘brand name’ going down the drain.

Feedback and Reviews

Entertain your guests while they are sitting at their table enjoying their meal. Let them hear from others on how good the products are that they are interested in. Reading the top reviews on your items is like reading the morning paper during breakfast. This also builds on your trust and quality recognition, as they don’t just have to take ‘your word for it’. They can actually hear from others that have ordered from you.

Payment

Some want to pay with credit card, and some with cash. It’s important to supply multiple ways that you receive payments. While your customers might be limited in their payment methods, you should never be. ‘Cash only’ never works in the internet world. Remember to always be flexible even in an inflexible world.

Delivery and Returns

While tipping the waiter is normally optional, being required to tip, no matter how good the food was, is not the way to get your customers to rave about how good your restaurant is. By offering low cost delivery options, or even free delivery specials you are offering special incentives in more than just your advertising department. Offering return policies gives your traffic the peace of mind that if anything goes wrong you’ll make it right. This also builds on your ‘trust and quality’ elements that you have already been building to associate with your brand name.
