See how much corporate monsters such as Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Best buy make via the internet.
Target is one of the biggest corporations in the world. Many know Target for being the giant all in one shopping mall. Target and Wal-Mart basically have the same focus, to make money. Both of these companies sell pretty much the same things, but with a different variety of prices. These companies made billions of dollars before being introduced properly onto the internet. So how much do they make now that they operate via the internet and in thousands of locations around the United States?
They have basically taken their revenue and doubled it with the use of the internet’s marketplace. Why do they make so much money off the internet? For one, it’s a very convenient marketplace. Think about it, you wake up in the morning, and you start thinking, well I wanted to buy this, but I don’t feel like leaving the house, or my car doesn’t work, or I don’t have a car at all. Not only do these websites attract people from within the United States, but it’s available for people around the world. Imagine how many billions, hell maybe even trillions of dollars are spread around the internet today because of these corporate giants. The system is so easy to follow all you have to do is turn on your computer, log onto target.com or walmart.com or even bestbuy.com, you take out your credit card, purchase your item within minutes and you’re done. Within seven days your product will arrive on your doorstep. That my friends, is convenient.
Amazon.com and Ebay.com also have very interesting purposes. Amazon went from being a bookstore type website to a monster of a site, selling almost everything except food. Amazon has done so well that its revenue has soared almost as high as Target. That is a lot of money for a strictly internet based company. On top of that, you have Ebay.com, a site where people sell used, new, old items in a sort of auction type setting. A person logs onto the internet, posts up something they would like to auction off, and people bid on it. The person picks the highest bidder, item is sold, and it arrives to the consumer within a designated time. Now what makes company like these so great? Convenience. People, including myself, have a tendency to either be lazy or just be flat out tired. If they aren’t able to find something in a store, or just don’t have the time to do their Christmas shopping in the store, they’ll log onto the website, and order it.
Companies such as Wal-Mart, Amazon, Target, Best buy, Blockbuster, and EBay record high sales because they have everything that people could want. Billions upon billions are spent on the internet each year; these online websites still have newer products to add. Their niche market attracts pretty much everyone. These corporations do so well because they offer the very materialistic things that people want, when they want. Let us just say that this online market is booming, freakishly, and it won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
