7-Day Action Plan For Using Social Media Marketing for Lead Generation – Part 2

Part Two: With Social Media Marketing you’re going to be writing A LOT. I mean it… most of social media marketing is done by submitting little bits of information all over the web for a keyword or set of keywords that relate to your site. This will establish you as a credible source of information and with loads of small articles or content all pointing back (linking) to your site Google will see you as an authority in that topic and your website will slowly rise through the natural listings.

If you missed day one’s lesson on keyword research and how to find keywords you should read 7-Day Action Plan For Using Social Media Marketing for Lead Generation – Part 1

Your task on day two of the seven day action play is to write 18 articles. OUCH! I know… believe me, I’ve followed this plan time and time again and even shared it will a few buddies of mine and it always works, so I mean it when I say eighteen articles.

One thing that should ease your mind is that these articles only need to me 300 words in length. I used to write these articles myself so that I didn’t have more business costs. But after making a little money and realizing I was spending all day writing articles, I started to get the articles outsourced. I usually get these articles outsourced through Scriptlance.com. When I do outsource the articles I can normally get all eighteen written for under $75.

These articles should be in groups of three. You are going to start out with three of the keywords you picked and have six articles written (or you will have to write them yourself). Remember that these articles only need to be three hundred words in length.

For example, if three of my keywords were Boise Web Design, Seattle Criminal Defense Lawyer, and Orlando Limo Service I would have 6 articles written for each keyword.

Boise Web Design = 6x 300 word articles
Seattle Criminal Defense Lawyer = 6x 300 word articles
Orlando Limo Service = 6x 300 word articles

These articles should be about either how you are the guy who can get the lowest prices, the fastest service, or about how hard it used to be till you came around.

One thing you must remember is that each article is unique! NO DUPLICATE CONTENT! When you hire an outsourcer be sure to let them know that you’ll be checking to make sure that all the content is original. You can use CopyScape.com to check the originality of the articles written.

Also, one very important tip to remember when you’re writing articles or hiring your articles is to make sure that the writer slides the keyword into the content 3 times for every 100 words. So if I have a 300-word article on Boise Web Design I want to see that keyword “Boise Web Design” in the article 9 times. It is very important to make these keywords naturally appear in the article.

Yep agree with a lot of the points on social media marketing. For ecommerce sites which want to use social media sites for marketing purposes and natural seo there are some interesting sites to consider - social shopping sites - established ones like www.kaboodle.com and newer ones like www.tribesmart.com and www.veedow.com to name but a few I have looked at.

A misconception.

I know from experience. Google is not at all as stupid as that. And observations of natural rises through such antics are probably missing out salient factors.

The real way to rise "naturally" on the web is by being liked. If people genuinely found your stuff authoritative and usefl (due to the fact that it actually helps them, which 90% of bluffers' "authoritative" words on the web DO NOT do) and spread it themselves you really would rise, but if you actually are engineering that rise yourself, then you're trying to make bread without real yeast.

I used my knowledge of how to incorporate genuine yeast into my work last month to take the site traffic up as follows on the site I am focusing on - it was running at about 10 accesses a month, yielded by entries from search result pages - and after doing about 3 weeks of work I had it set up so that a small way into google's update of my site's presence it has already zoomed up to about 180 accesses a month, yielded by entries from search result pages.

If I had done 3 weeks of work, the same degree of effort and time, doing "social media marketing" (a misnomer - it is spamming - social media are for SOCIAL use - and to use them for anything else is NOT just salesmanship, it's actually dishonest - but who's gonna tell the entire Indian subcontinent that?) would never ever yield that much traffic, not at all. As for how targeted the traffic would be...

I'm counting in terms of hours of typing and surfing, which was all part of making my boost happen. The same amount of work done on social media marketing would yield perhaps 20% of the number of users per month and more importantly because they are entirely untargeted, (targeting is NOT the background of the page, it's the user's keyword choices when reaching there - google adwords does not charge the same price for search engine clicks and content page clicks - they yield different sales levels) we are really talking about 1 to 2% of the number of sales.

The only reason people get fooled into using the spam method is, as the title of the article and this thread make clear, because you can see an actual result very fast - inside a couple of days, less even, you can see the users come to your site due to your work, whereas if you do it honestly you have to give google, yahoo and others at least a month to really see your work in progress -

I started my efforts in mid may - during the remaining weeks of may I still didn't see any result from those efforts, then in june I saw a rise from 10 to 150, a very sharp boom of activity, and it continues even now at that boosted level, so I'm keen to see what happens at the next surge of google listings - the digestion of the work I did is by no means complete - some people say you should give it at least 6 weeks for work to "settle in" on Google.

So it's this desire to not be forced to wait 6 weeks and then 6 weeks and so on that makes people leap into the spamworld of "social media marketing".

The 7-day action plan for marketing should include 7 days of work, and NOT the ambition to yield results inside those 7 days. The best things come to those who wait.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - the 3 weeks of effort I put into my work which took my traffic from 10 a month to 180 a month does not need to be repeated or freshened or bolstered, that 180 a month will carry on now. Social spammer marketing actually requires of you that you carry on, day in day out - basically social media spamming is a toil that requires you to work day in day out, and never stop. Intelligent sales people build systems which create what some call a "passive income" - ie you do 3 weeks of work, and that 3 weeks, as in my case, adds a permanent 1500 to 2000 people per annum. you do another 3 weeks, another, and another, and you're at the 5000 people per annum mark, and you don't do ANYTHING to maintain that, they just come to you, day in day out, while you enjoy life, have a cigar, eat an egg - whatever it is you want or have to do.
