I’m sure by now you’ve heard the saying… “The money is in the list.” So why don’t you have a list yet? If getting started is your problem, then this will be the most important article series you read today. In Part 1 of this article series, I shared why you shouldn’t give away a free newsletter to build your list and I’ll be sharing with you some of the most powerful tips on how to build a list and get people to click that “Sign-Up” button.

First things first, when trying to build a list, it is important that you put yourself in the subscriber’s shoes. Ask your self these questions:

  1. What made you sign up or “opt-in” to that list?

  2. What keeps you subscribed to this mailing list? Is there something of value that you get from it?

  3. Or perhaps, why did you UNSUBSCRIBE from that free newsletter? What pushed you to the edge to finally click that unsubscribe link at the very bottom of the email?

By answering these questions you’re taking a look at your list from the subscribers point of view and not your point of view (which is probably “make money, make m0re money, make even more money). Now that you’re in your subscribers frame of mind you can create an opt-in page to start building your list.

How To Build A List Strategy 3 Write articles to establish yourself as an authority.

By writing articles and submitting them to various article directories you’re spreading the word that you know what you’re talking about and these article directories are publishing your content because it’s valuable for the reader. If your articles art valuable for readers in article directories, why wouldn’t a web searcher follow the link at the bottom of every article back to the main “authority” source – you’re site? That’s how building credibility works.

You submit articles, and possibly get that article listed in the first page of Google, when a person searches that topic and find your article informative and useful, they follow the link back to your site. Now they already trusted you enough by clicking the link from the article you just need to use tip two to get them to trust you even more to opt-in for more information.

The more articles you write…the more people will think that you definitely know what you’re saying and talking about. Be sure to spread the articles over many sites and not just one article directory.

How To Build A List Strategy 4 – Visit The Forums
Again…this has a lot to do with establishing yourself as an authority.
Do a Google search for – “your niche name” forums
That will bring up a list of sites that are related to your niche that also have forums. You want to establish more credibility by joining communities and sharing what you know about your niche. Look for questions being asked by the posters and members that can be answered by your product, ebook, or ecourse.

When you answer, give them the full answer. If your answer was valuable and you sig link relates to the product, service, or questions they were asking they will already be more enticed to click you link and go to your site for more info. You do not need to spam forums with half answered questions just so you can make an affiliate sale.

Remember: “The money is in the list” and you don’t need to hustle people to get them to join. Give away something valuable, answer their questions, and tell them the benefits of WHY they should be a part of your list and I’m sure you’ll have a growing list in no time!

That sums up tip 3 and 4. If you missed tip 1 and 2 look for 4 Easy-To-Follow Strategies And Tips For Building Your List – Part 1.
