Hi everyone,

I am new here and was looking for a little help. I have been running a website for over a year and just started a new affiliate program. The 21 year old parent company pays out the commissions and it is all above board.

I don't want to post anything here since it may be against the rules and also don't want to get flamed. This is also the only forum I noticed that might be the right topic.

Is there somewhere in the forums I can post or do you know of a good place to advertise it.

I am just looking for someone to point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the help.

(I pulled my signature so you wouldn't think I was pulling a fast one)

uptil7000,

I don't think there is anything wrong with a signature in your
posts. After all, this is partly why some people post in forums.

A signature should be short but DO use it to tell people
what you are all about.

As for adveritising your opportunity, aside from posting it to a
topic that 'allows' it, you will most likely have better results
by posting on topic messages such as how I am doing right now!

Just be carefull about posting nonsense, or off topic posts that
are clearly just an advertising gimick.

Most of us experienced forum users can see right through that.

But in the end, sometimes you just have to take a chance and
post. I have only been here a few days but from
what I can tell, the moderators here are very good at what
they do.

As long as you are not willfully misleading people or posting
blatant ads you should do fine.

Posting this question was your first step to developing
relationships online. Over time people will start to look
YOU up and seek you out.

Just start contributing usefull text for us to read and I am
sure you will start to see at least 'some' leads.

Great Post wynpublishing and Welcome to Webmaster-talk

In our forum rules, we ask to keep signatures at three lines or less (mostly to keep the forum cleaner looking).

I have not been strictly enforcing this rule, but we will probably do some "summer cleaning" and ask members to keep them to 4 lines or less (or I will clean it up for them). The nice thing is that if change you sig, it will change it on all your new posts also...

uptil7000,

You could also try www.webmasterbids.com, I bought ads there before and I found it to be a great venue. I don't know how it is for sellers but for buyers it's great.

By the way, how do you create a signature, do you have to type it in each time?

Thanks chief. It is a pleasure to find a forum not full
of garbage (ads and spam).

Good posts wyn! Speaking of sigs, that is a great for the members to list their own websites too! For the ones that are not sure about the procedure, here ya' go:

1. Go to User CPanel
2. Click edit profile and scroll down to Signature.
3. Add signature using the vB code (and smilies if desired).

For example, a signature like Webmaster-Talk Forums is made like this:

[ url=http://www.webmaster-talk.com/ ]Webmaster-Talk Forums[ /url ]

Omit the spaces.

Also, you can advertise here a Webmaster-Talk! Special Advertisements are here!. The advertisement forum procedures are here! Please check it out.
