Hi g_a_t_e. Welcome to Webmaster-Talk.

I am just hoping you came here to participate in our forums rather than only making one post to introduce your affiliate program?

You would get a lot more exposre to your program if you simply participate while leaving for Ad in you signature rather than making your first post look like SPAM.

If you choose to participate, I'll let this post stay (since it is an announcement rather than an affiliate link... ?ID). Otherwise it will be moved. Time will tell what you have decided to do.

Thank You and Welcome aboard.

Good day to you chief,
I thought that perhaps it was of service leaving a press release for a system which may(or may not) be beneficial to your users.
I chose this forum as it is a content related post, surely having a signature after a answer for support from another user would needlessly create a large amount of "extra" data which would in turn a. lower your and my search engine ranking and b. cause an extra line of text in each post which is off topic that users read.
I do intend to contribute to these forums, but I would rather have one targeted press release in the correct forum than spread the signature across your site.
If people visit your site I would think they would rather see the post I made in one concise message than a url in every post I intend to make (contribution wise, not self promotion).

Regards,
g_a_t_e

These sub pages (at this time) are not indexed by the search engines. Secondly, why do you thing it would lower your search engine rankings? Specifically if you used the right anchor text in the link? I could see where you could possible be concerned about being linked from a page with a lower PR (like our subpages), but for the most part, I don't think it would be a problem.

In reference to "b. cause an extra line of text in each post which is off topic that users read."

Short, clean signatures are encouraged here. They are a not something we have to do but are used as a bonus for those who participate (particularily because we don't have and don't want a forum full of SPAM). Most of the signatures on this forum are written in a way that does not reduce the quality of these forums IMO.
