Hi without looking at your website its not really easy to suggest anything...
Why not Adsense? Were you banned?
With that many page impressions daily even without clicks Adsense should still make you a profit. Have you tried Bidvertiser or PayLoadz?
If you're getting 20k unique, then you might have to play around with Ad placement to get higher CTR. Try YPN or Clicksor if you have been banned by Google AdSense.
yes, i would also suggest you to earn through paid ads and link placement. Even affiliate programs are quite successful in high traffic sites. I don't know why it doesn't work on your site, but be you are not getting targeted traffic. Work on relevant sports sites to get the best results.
These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website.
Well I'm sure you can apply this advice to whatever your niche is. Are your articles reviews about products within the niche? If so you should easily be able to sell the product via Amazon or some other affiliate by embedding the specific product affiliate link/image at the end of the post after the review is up. If you simply talk about the Yankees or have more commentary type style than reviews and latest news you will need to think very specifically what your niche might want, that you talk about..whether its Yankee bobble heads, sports memorabilia, or season tickets. So many different variables.
Hey wanna see your website first, i think if you have this much traffic then you should join some affiliate network and promote their sports products, i am sure you can get a massive income...
usually from what i've witnessed when you come to webmasters forums. you can get alot of help from the people here. hell i put up my intro and i was getting all kinds of really awesome feed back.
As far as having 20k uniques daily... there is something wrong there. all those uniques and not a single conversion is kind of shady. how many clicks are you getting reported? what kind of ads do you have? I mean if you are advertising children's diapers in a sport bar it probably won't fly.
