I have created a comparison site which is hopefully going to make money through PPC and PPP. However I was wondering how do I cleanse the traffic stats, distiguishing between real users from those that may be crawlers of computer software or repeat clickers, ramping up costs for our customers. I only want to charge for real traffic!

Any advice/posts which would help would be much appreciated, I did search but couldnt find anything.

It's not a simple task combating click fraud, the SEs have teams of software engineers working on the problem continuously.

The obvious ones are:-
use javascript to display the links - many bots do not have js capabilities
check UA signatures - easily faked though.
check for known proxy IPs
check for IPs from country where click fraudsters tend to work from
discount multiple clicks from any one IP within a given time scale.
discount multiple clicks from same ISP ranges within a given time scale.
