As a US citizen, I am aware that I cannot legally gamble online. However, is it illegal for me to promote online gambling to non-US citizens (mainly Europeans) as an affiliate? I started doing this and made some very quick money, and I am thinking about really getting into it. But I don't want to really do anything illegal either, so I want to check now.

I think promoting gambling is not allowed legally.

I would suggest consulting a lawyer.

Even though you are promoting online gambling where it is not illegal (YET). Your earnings could be classed as payments from illegal sources.

What i knew gambling advertisements are against to google adwords policy.

So it depends on where you are going to promote it.

I think , as an affiliate you can promote gambling affiliate programs. Google allows gambling promotion in countries like England, Ireland, Wales, Spain, Italy using Adword. However, I would suggest consulting a lawyer before committing to promote the offers.

Too dangerous in my opinion. The laws on US gambling may be changing though so keep your eyes open.

It would be great if they would just remove the law all together. I find it ridiculous that I could go drop a couple grand on lottery tickets at a gas station but I can't place a $10 bet online on a sporting event. But that's a different discussion altogether.

I just spent a couple of hours researching this topic as an offshoot of the one I started out researching.

The word "promote" has some legal implications and should be avoided. If you are selling advertising and your only payment is on a per click or flat rate for the service you are not promoting gambling. There were ads for Vegas on this very site just a few days ago.

If on the other hand you are earning a % on the deposit amounts you may well be guilty of a crime. In this (my) state for sure you would be.

As always, don't rely on anything I post as your sole authority. Do your own research.
