Hello everyone I need your guys comments and advice as I am starting out an affiliate marketer starting monday. I am signing up under neverblue AD's affiliate network. (CPA)
To gain money while being an affiliate markerter I want to make a website where people can do offers (my incentitive campaigns) in return for half my profit. A website like cashlagoon.com or prizebook.com .
If I spent around 100-200 on google adwords and did some SEO, and developed the website nicely do you think I would make a good profit?

Yes, that's true. Adwords can be VERY tricky and if you don't think everything twice you could easily lose money.
SEO would help but i think that joining some forums would also be a good start.

Don't know why, I will not start my affiliate marketing through Adwords. Maybe I think it is too risky for a newbie like me because every click is money! So I will start a site, maybe with some squeeze page or pre-sales letter on it. Then market it using other method such as article marketing and test the site. Test and change the site before giving a try on Adwords
Just Piece of my mind,
Harrison

yeah look out! adwords aint cheap any more matey.
what you should be doing is getting them on a list (opt them in) and then follow up for three or four days like this.....
===============
day 1 - email 1
good article or info here relating to your niche
http.......(affiliate link here relating to your article)
====================================
===============
day 2 - email 2
different article or info here relating to your niche
http.......(affiliate link here relating to your article)
====================================
===============
day 3 - email 3
different article or info here relating to your niche
http.......(affiliate link here relating to your article)
====================================
===============
day 4 - email 4
different article or info here relating to your niche
http.......(affiliate link here relating to your article)
====================================
there you go, ok it is a little short hand but its how I went from
$0 per month to $2500 when i first started....and it works like a gem.
you get a rough idea any way. this strategy of the presell is highly powerful!
make sure you use it as part of your marketing strategy.
Good luck
cheers

Thanks for the tips, but who should I email? And how many people? And how do I get all their emails?

you need to drive all the traffic you can to a name squeeze page...have a look of some of the good ones around.....and see if you can utilize their ideas for their niche....that way you can start to build a list of some people.
list building is one of the smartest things you can do in this game. But initially you are going to have to drive traffic to your site. I have a site lauching soon that will show you many many different free resources to get free traffic to your site, see my sig below!

The only way you will know if you will make a profit or not is if you tested it. Don't forget that it will only make money if them signups earn you money. If they don't then you will not make money and it's only you that will know what type of people will be signing up.
I would suggest that you start of with a small sum of money on Adwords and don't just chuck it all in at once.

Russell, sign up with Clickbank, I would start with article marketing ( bum marketing ) you can do this for free, and try PPC later when you have learnt more. Write some articles related to products and select your keywords carefully, use sites like ezinearticles, goarticles.com and Squidoo.

I never try article marketing before and would like use this method in future to promote affiliate products. However, I heard a lot of success and failure story of it. Would you mind to share your results in article marketing with us?

Article marketing is pretty good, I've had many $100+ days with it, you just have to know which keywords to pick, and use Google Keyword Tool to find out how much search volume they have, some words have really high search volume and the top sites are not high page rank, so you can instantly get a top spot and start getting traffic within days. Sites like Hubpages, Squidoo, ezinearticles and goarticles all rank well.
When you have chosen your keywords, try to get 3-6% keyword density for them, (live-keyword-analysis.com) will tell you your %, this will also help get your articles up.

Yeah... I don't think using PPC is a good choice if you are just starting out. You need some skills on it or else you will be just wasting away your money.
I would suggest you drive free traffic methods to your website first.
1. Article marketing
2. Blogging
3. Forum marketing
All the 3 works pretty effective for me and they are free. After you get some sales, you can then spend some of your profits on PPC. Of course you will need to learn how to do a effective PPC campaign before you advertise.

Hi James, thanks for sharing your experience. It really sounds great and I want to give it a try. But one more question, you said that you wrote some articles for ezinearticles, goarticles and other, do you submit the same article with the same keywords to them? Or write different articles, attack the same keywords and submit....

Ezinearticles don't allow straight affiliate links, so in your author bio you should perhaps link it to a goarticles.com article, where you do a product review. Don't submit the exact same articles since Google doesn't like duplicate content, do different articles/keywords, alter between sites. Hubpages are ranking really nicely right now so you could write some hubs, they allow affiliate links. For instantance, you could use Google keyword tool to check out how often some keywords are searched for, type keyword tool in Google and you'll see it, first listing, and make a list of some keywords that have a high search volume and not to much competition from big sites at the top, then you could make some Hubs based around them words, referring a product. Hope that helps, just don't submit same articles to different sites since Google doesn't like the same content.
