Blending in Text advertising Vs In your face (Colourful ) Text Advertising

I normally try to blend in my advertisement witht he webpage and many experts also suggest that it is a good way to get more clicks.I have Monitored 2 sites i know of one with colourful advetisements that really stick out and can be noticed and the other site with ads blended in. Now the traffic for both are quite similar and so is the content. Bu the site with the Advetisements sticking out and In your face is earning much more revenue faster.

I wonder if anybody else has tested this out . Because I was thinking if i was a normal user who didnt know too much and saw a catchy bright link affering me something I would definetly check it out if i had some free time. what are your ideas or views on this

I've always been a fan of blending...but I have never experiemented with "in your face" advertising.

It really depends on what sort of site you run, and what is your target demographic.
