Wow, thread's almost a week old and not 1 junk post yet-thanks everybody (I just jinxed it didn't I)
One thing that I'm experimenting with now is targeting higher paying keyphrases on different pages of my sites, that way I don't have to rank my homepage for that $4.00 keyword.
Hopefully, get lots of traffic to my homepage, then have easily accesible internal links, menu's etc...available to the pages with higher click value, and yes, it's all 100% relavent-human friendly-no deception.
It's amazing to me how one little variation of a phrase can double or triple it's cpc, and with no apparent difference in buyer intent or commercial value. Maybe these merchants just get into bidding wars with each other, or maybe they know something I don't.
This approach isn't considered gaming Google or the merchants is it? All the link text and menu/page titles are the exact terms I'm targeting (or very close).
