For example if you are working with affiliate programs like clickbank or commission junction.How do you choose the right product to promote in affiliate marketing?

Find a product to promote you can purchase program that will help you promote and make you money. But it's up to you if you want to. There is free marketing and paid marketing.To sell affiliate products with free marketing you want to start out by writing in the free classified ads and another method is article writing. Write reviews on them and submit it. Once you have made a few sales, and can invest a little money into advertising you should start up. Before you start though do some more research on your affiliate program, and find out what keywords sell it. Once you have a few keywords add them, and set a price. Then have your adds go to the affiliate products you’re promoting.

This all depends on the content of your site, products have to be relevent to what your site is about.

i base it to whatever niche i have. say if i have a travel site, i then sell hotel bookings or ebook about the city

With clickbank I see the gravity of a product and decide the niche myself which I would feel comfortable promoting. The rest is just hard work.

It also depend upon your interest, as I was interested in selling some ebooks before some time and so I started a small blog in which I write content and sell ebooks through it.

I'd say interest is a big decision factor in which affiliate product(s) to promote. You won't always have a serious passion for successful products. However, at least a minor interest in something allows you to think like a consumer - how would you sell to yourself?

i have to agree with the others that mention having an interest in a particular product or service in order to promote it. If you are familiar with it and Like it, then it makes it a whole lot easier to talk about the service and recommend it to others. Having knowledge of an industry really does help in your promotional efforts.

I just choose affiliate programs that coexist with my topic. When I had my natural health blog I would choose affiliate programs that catered that topic. That included supplements, yoga, exercise equipment, etc.

those programs which are very much related to your
niche.. people visiting your site will
be interested on related topics.
