Horrible jagged edges in CS1

Urghhh lately I've been using the shape tool a lot, and using masks to create whatever shape Im looking for.

But I keep ending up with really jagged edges on them. I dont really change the size of them that much.

Does anyone else get this problem, and is there a tool that will smooth out the edges of shapes such as circles? etc...

If you're using the shape tool or any tool that creates a path, you shouldn't be getting the jaggies. Are you turning them into selections and then filling or stroking or whatever ?

Circles are always going to present a bit of a problem because pixels are square and when you draw a circle you're actually faking it with square pixels, but you should still get a relatively smooth curve.

Yeah I find selecting them before colouring them can help. I think i've just been using images that are too small, using bigger ones and then scaling them down seems to work ok!

thats just how it is, depending on the resolution as well can change the outcome since the amount of pixels per inch can change the smoothness n way things look

make sure you view ur file in actual pixels.
