Hey guys

I need to make a grass look on the bottom of this brochure I'm making, does anyone know how to make a good grass look that would fit in well on a golfing brochure?

Thanks!

With a digital camera. Get a digital camera and photograph some grass from different angles like from over head, and then get down on your stomach and take some shots where you can isolate the background and remove the blades of grass and add different backgrounds.

I did this once for some stock golf photos I made because I couldn't find a PS tutorial that gave you realistic grass. I made a golfball in ps, added a real sky and my real grass that I took a pic with and was done in a couple of minutes.

Seriously.

But if you really want a tut the only tutorial I've ever come across that made grass that I thought was halfway decent for what the golf stock photo I made was one like this. That wasn't the site I originally saw the tutorial on but it's the only site I could find that grassy look on Google right now. If you find another let me know.

Good idea, so get some overhead and on my stomach shots, then whats a good way to get rid of the background, where I live it will easily get my neighbors mansion like house in it or the highway behind my house lol.

Also you said you made a golf ball, did it turn out good? I need to make one and so far I found one good tutorial that's not working out for me, got any ideas?

Thanks much

Hey I think I followed the one from photoshopcafe to make mine

LINK

And I was pretty happy with it. I should add that with some dodge and burn and good placement it looks more realistic than it does against the white background in the example. Faking a motion blur also will help sell the effect.
