I've always prided myself in the ability to figure out just about any software package, but Photoshop is confusing the heck out of me !!

All I'm trying to do is change the color of a path that I drew with the pen tool! I want it to be white, and I'd like to change the with of the line that I drew. Very simple procedure in every other program I've ever used, but I just can't figure it out in Photoshop!

Someone please answer... I've wasted an hour on this already!

to change color and width just select the pen click your color and it brings you to the color picker, if you want white type #FFFFFF and then when you want to change the thickness right click and it brings a menu up to chenge it. You may want a tutorial like said above.

I asume you are used to work in vectorbased drawing programs (like illustrator, Corel draw etc..) they are build up in a different way then photoshop.

Therefor a lot of things are different!!
For instance in photoshop you are not able to make a lot of corrections after having drawn with the regular penciltool. It works like pictures you import in illustrator. You can scale it, but you cant change thickness of the lines like that. You can change the color for instance with a filter put onto the entire layer (so remember to make layers for alle the different objects you make)

Maybe you can put the "stroke" filter onto your shapelayer (made with pentool) and take the fill opacity to 0%
Then only the stroke (wich you can colorize as you please) will be visible

I hope this helps you a bit (and there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers!!)

If you want to change the color of the pen. Make a new layer draw something then go to Blending options and do a "color overlay"

Photoshop is the best immage manipulation kit, you have to take it easy...You can use to draw lines Corel (is vectorial design package) or you have to select with the Magic Want tool the line, choose another color and fill the selection with the Paint Bucket Tool. In Corel you have only to select the line and change the color secting another color!
