How can i create a shine on somthing using photoshop cs2

Hey guys,

im pretty new to photoshop but im in the middle of desiging our new company logo, i am pretty happy with the shape and everything but i want to create a shine on the top of each of the shapes below. can anybody tell me how i would do that please?

For example on our current logo u can see a shine where i have put the arrow:

How do i put the same sort of shine on the newer logo below please?

When you use bevel and emboss , use white / light (yellow) color instead of black/dark colors for shading.

I figure you added an emboss on it? You can also add a shine by making a new round selection and fill it with white and lower the opacity afterwards. Hope you found it useful.

The EASY way is to use a layer style. PS comes with a number of shiny layer styles and if you can't find one, head to Adobe Exchange and download many, many more for free.

so far you have used an emboss like this for your logo.

by making this change in the bevel and emboss window,

you can end up with the following result.

which looks like the shine effect the other logo uses.

OR,

you can do what vesica said, and add a gradient. which will result in this.

It fits very well.

Maybe, but that's just me, you could make your text look a little more like your logo?

Maybe you need a glass effect. There is a good tutorial at PS lover.
