Some people have given me complaints (few actually, but they count) on having used the standard Photoshop-effect bevel. Sure enough, it's a bit dull, but I don't know any other effects, and I can't say good-tutorials have been any help, so I'm kind of hoping someone here have a neat effect that can freshen up my site a little. Doesn't have to be an advanced effect, but something else than bevel/emboss.

Hi
The posibilities that photoshop provides is unlimited and the effects that you can produce is endlles!!!
So if you have some spare time i sugest you to "play" a little with the filters until you are happy with the results.

Tip:You can combine several filters and have a nice and unique effect!

Filters are a blast when you play with them!

Things to try:
Bubble effect
Glass buttons
Watery overlay

Also, play with your layer modes - they can produce some pretty cool effects as well.

I've got a couple tutorials on my site that may help. You'll get to fiddle with layers, liquify, lighting and more, so you'll have a few new tricks in your arsenal. These are aimed at beginners, and fully illustrated, so they should be fairly easy to learn :

Photoshop Car Makeover - Tools used vary from liquify, Lighting and transform

Photoshop Fire Effect on a Person - Again liquify and different lighting techniques

hi,

For some really good and nice effects, especially with letters, try some of Photoshop styles.

Those are the files with ASL extensions in Preset folder of Your PS.
You can download some for free. Just google and search photoshop styles.

Also, You can make your own styles. Combinations with filters are endless.
