serial no. for my photoshop

Hello everyone. I've just changed my pc and i can't remember or find the serial no. for my photoshop elements disc so i cannot load it on my new system. I still have my old pc here which it is installed on is there a way i can find out the no. or is there another way around this problem.

im not quite sure, but I think the serial is stored in the registry, so try searching in regedit for photoshop, and looking around for it.

I forget where but some place in the software install is a file with a code or whatever the proper term is. And somewhere on the internet with that code you can find your proper serial. I heard this from a friend who had the same trouble.

Hi Terry,
Hopefully this is somewhat useful to you if your still having a problem.
On your other pc with photoshop installed, instead of looking through the registry, launch photoshop, click help, click about photoshop, a screen appears with your previously entered serial and name etc.

Hope that helps, saves searching the registry anyhow!!
P.S. This works for most other applications as well!

Contact Adobe. I'm sure if it's a legitimate copy they'll happily help. But saying that the serial number should be displayed when you first open up the program.

When you open photoshop cs2, right under the name you registered it in like "John Smith" in the loading screen, right under it, it shows the cd key.

Yep! It's right there on the opening window in both CS or Elements, right underneath your name, bottom right hand corner of the little window in the middle of your screen. If you don't get it all wrote down fast enough, don't worry... just click Help | About Photoshop, it load the opening screen back up and scrolls Photoshop credits for about 2 days, so you'll have plenty of time to write it down.

And, Dan it is truly scary that anyone so critical of Windows, would have difficulty with such a menial task as that!
