Hey i'm an extreme new guy so sorry if this is a really basic question!

I previously used on of those simple banner makers for the banner on the top of my site, but have recently become interested in using photo shop as i have heard it is a lot more powerful!

I have an image as a background for the banner and the banner is the correct dimensions.
However when i select part of an image out of another picture using magic wand and then try to copy it over to the canvas, no image appears.

There is something there as you can move the outline , but the actual image doesn't appear.

Please help, and don't worry, when you tell me how simple it is to do, IL kick myself so you dont have to!

Use the "Move Tool". You can press [V] to get it, if you're a short cut kind of guy.
