review?

I am trying to make a background for a flash page and came up with a few things, i think this is the best one i came up with. Just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions or if its fine as is.

well... i dont know about others... but personally i dont like the red grid. The ones in the middle don't look the same width as the others. did u use the pattern tool or do it by hand? use the pattern tool if u didnt. since it is a flash background, i would suggest adding some animation that makes it look like the grids are needed. i cant help u any more w/o knowing what the image is for.

My gf said lose the red grid too. I'm a little colorblind so i couldnt tell that much. The pic is going to be used on a basic page about myself like a resume. Its a good idea to maybe throw a small animation into it though. instead on photoshopping the grid i should make it in the flash and have it show up in some interesting way.

I did do it by hand i wasnt sure if there was some tool in photoshop cs2 that did that, i know enough about photoshop to get around pretty good but nothing to advanced

you could have used the define pattern

make a small new image (maybe 40x40) with transparent background
make two lines go through the middle, so that they intersect in the middle and are perpendicular
go to Edit->Define Pattern
Then open your other file that you want the grid on, and get the paint bucket tool
change the foreground option to pattern and choose the pattern you made.
fill it and u have an instant grid!

think the bg needs to be brighter or somethin because it looks very dull

alot of the picture is dark because i took the pic at sunset. The actual picture is a little brighter though, i'll see what i come up with

Ya you need to make it brighter and get rid of the grid.... try making a new document, filling it with a dull color and using the stamp tool and grunge brushes to give it a worn in look.
