Heres my problem, any help or tips on how to do it you be greatly appreciated,

I'm working on a Oval Sticker for the local football club, but when I try to insert
text in the oval, I'm only allowed to work with a circle.
This is the Embroided badge I'm working from.

So what or how do I do it?

if you have PS CS you can draw a path, then pick the Text tool and go on the path, the pointer will change and you'll be allowed to type on the path

you can look for text on path tutorials on the net

>make an oval with the Ellipse Tool (in the toolbar, second row,9th button from top. If another shape is in that box...hold down the button to pull up the small pop up window to select the ellipse tool)

>click on text tool
>with text tool selected, click on the top of the oval and type the maroondah/deselect

To be able to type the text in at the bottom as shown in the example, do the following.

FYI: command=control for pc users (i think)

>Use the pen tool and make a horizontal line at the bottom of the original oval.
Hold down shift (mac users) to keep the pen straight. Have the auto add/delete button in your preference bar selected (located below the horizonal toolbar at the top of the screen).

Hover over the center of the line with the pen tool, when a plus sign comes up, click to add a point. Hold down command and click and hold on the center point and drag it down to create the bottom part of an oval. Hold the command button down and click off of the line to deselect the line without completing the path.

Select the type tool and start it at the very beginning of the half circle and type the second part of your badge. (you can hit the space bar to move the text to the right, but you cannot back the text up, so it is important that you pick the point EXACTLY where you are going to start the text.)

create another layer and make your green oval and the other graphics you need. Make sure the two text layers are on top so you will be able to see them.

Hope this helped. See attachment.
