Fading Images

Hi,

Quick PS question.
I am looking to make a graphic which fades into a single colored backgound.

There will be a picture of mountains and I want those mountains around the edges to fade into my background which will be blue or white.

How do I do this?

not sure if this is what you're asking, but if you use a large feathered erasur brush and erase the area a few pixels off the image edge it will fade the edge out

try doing some layer masking to create this effect
