Hi, I'm trying to create a nice looking webpage in dreamweaver -I want to place a faded photo of a wine bottle and grapes (a kind of ghost picture) in the background. My text will be placed over it. I'm thinking of using a photoshop filter to fade the photo, then convert it to a transparent gif to blend with the background, but not sure exactly how to place it behind the text and over the background. Is this a layer thing?

make sure the image layer you want is above the background layer and just keep the text layer above the image one that should work how you want it.

could you not just combine the wine pic with the background?

yeah he could use the merge down function.

select the layer you want to merge down then select layer on the menu above and its near the bottom
