Help! Fireworks Sucks!

Well, I was taught to use Fireworks, and now I've hit a plateau that can only be passed by switching to Photoshop.

The thing is... I can't find any entry level tutorials! Most google results are simply people looking for website hits; so they have no real content that I can make use of.

Please list out some great sources for me to learn from! Maybe even a book!

what are you trying to do in fireworks that isn't working that requires switching to PS?

It is a much simpler program, and because of that, you can't do the more advanced things that Ps has to offer.

There are many people who would argue that point, that Fireworks can do most of what PS can do. Sorry, I did misinterpret what you wanted.

Layers Magazine is still an excellent resource for Photoshop tutorials, as is PhotoshopUserTV.com.

if you don't know specifically what you need to do in ps because you think you can't in fireworks then how do you know that you need to use ps??

@ Davemies: Because I know the ins and outs of Fireworks, and then I come onto the web and see these intricate works of art. Now I know you can't do things like what I've seen in Fireworks, and what other program can you think of that most likely made them? Ps.

the things that ps can do that fireworks can't do or can't manage as well aren't going to be covered by "entry level tutorials".

have you tried asking on the adobe photoshop forum for good tutorial sites?

I too was taught FireWorks instead of PhotoShop (in my intro to web design class). I wish I learned PS but I wouldn't go so far as to say FW sucks. Anyway they have tons of PhotoShop tutorials on youtube and a small number of fireworks tutorials as well. If you want to learn fireworks, photoshop or just about anything else, I would look on youtube first. There are also turorials on PS at expertsexchange.com
