Okay, I know this isn't a great logo, but being new to Photoshop this is what I came up with. Open to some new ideas, or if you're feeling generous even a new design. For ideas, remember I'm new to Photoshop so i may not know all the tools or capablities yet. Thanks for your help.

This is my honest opinion. It doesnt look very good at all.

You should try using gradients and stuff.

The outside of the logo is quite rigid. maybe you should try saving as a gif? it might sort it out...

How do I use gradients? And .gif doesn't support the clear background layer, it shows up white doesn't it.

I think your logo is not quite good. The color and texture of the background doesn't look good. But as a newbie in using photoshop, I think it's a good start. Try to search and learn from a tutorials. There are lots of them. Here, gonna give you some of my tutorial list:Hope it can help you! Goodluck..

The text looks like it has some potential and with the image incorporated into that, but i would get rid of the background and remember a logo should look good in black and white.

Nice layout tho, you just need to work on what color background is to be used.

I like the color scheme of the second one a lot better. I would probably make the shadowing on the text a little less detached from the letters so it looks smoother and not so busy.

I don't think a leaf is a good symbol for outdoor. Try trees or mountains! And when you use texture, make sure to use the correct blending mode. Put a little bit of effect on your text, believe me it does a lot of difference. And if you want a transparent background, save it as PNG.

Remember that in graphic design less is more!!! Both of the two logos yo have there are awful. Photoshop is not an application for logo design, it's for image retouching and resterized image treatmnt. Use Illustrator, Corel Draw or any vector drawing app if you want to design a logo!

Not bad for a newbie. But I guess you should try and experiment different color combination that will suit your theme and font style together with the picture or graphic you got for your logo.

I like the 2nd one much better. The 1st reminded me of a sticker. I wouldn't be too quick to give up on playing off the B.O.G. intitials though. Seems pretty marketable to me, and your 2nd logo doesn't take advantage of that.
