Can anyone guide me in the right direction. I want to learn to animate in photoshop, simple animations such as flash banners and what not.

Anyone know any sites or resources that I can utilize?

Thanks.

Flash banners require Flash - not Photoshop.

Google is your friend.

Photoshop is NOT an animation tool. ImageReady was dropped in favor of Fireworks for small animated gif type animations.

There's gotta be a way of creating flash banners with photoshop, just simples ones. With text and image movement here and there.

Never mind, i'll search it up on google, just thought someone here might know any specific site covering animating in photoshop.

Ah well, thanks anyways.

No there isn't

Photoshop does NOT do animation of ANY kind, so search google until you are blue in the face you won't find a tutorial.

You can make animated gifs in photoshop, but not flash media.

You can do animated gifs with ImageReady, which used to come with Photoshop.
Unfortunately, they discontinued ImageReady with the release of CS3. Now that
Adobe owns Fireworks, they felt they didn't need IR anymore.

But, as everyone above has said, you can't do flash with Photoshop. You'll have
to get either Adobe Flash, an older version of Macromedia Flash, or some other
program like Sothink's SWF Quicker.

Hello,

ImageReady like most people have already said is your best bet. You can find alot of great tutorials that will help you with the learning process. Don't be afraid to use Google.

There has to be a way to save gas money by driving my toothbrush to work and back.

There are a few basic animation tools in photoshop that i use quite regular. Not the best thing in the world, but its pretty good for basic GIF animations like banners
