drawing geometric shapes with Photoshop Elements 5.0, or?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 which doesn't have the ability to create "paths" --whatever those are, like my old photoshop 6, so I can't draw custom curved lines or geometric shapes. I am trying to design a logo for my site (amounting to a sunburst over a sea inside a circle) Where can I find some free software to draw this? The drawing would have to be uploaded into Elements 5.0., eventually, I think, for filling with color, or making semitransparent.

why don't you try using adobe photoshop cs3...there you could also draw stuff...

LOL, no Matt. You would have to buy Either The Program Itself or it Comes with the whole Collection.

There is GIMP

If you get into designing logos, Illustrator would be better than Photoshop. But GIMP is free and should accomplish what you need to do.
