text underline and not sharp

I hit the text tool on the tool bar

and started typing some text

the text is underlined and is no sharp

I am using photoshop cs what's wrong?? How can I get rid of the line under the text

The underline in the text tool is an aid for positioning, once you set the text or move to a different layer it goes away... a way to avoid it is to use the text tool to draw a text box, the text will not be underlined.

Check out the text toolbar there is a place to set the display properties of the text... ie none,sharp,crisp,strong,smooth....
