Hi ... am new to PhotoShop and am using the newest version, with XP Pro SP2.

Been through a couple of manuals, rummaged around web, searching for the answer to a design question. I usually get the best answers, to questions, on webmaster-talk.com, so I did my homework and here I am.

I'm trying to revise a slogan, on a banner.

Am able to erase -- colour over, actually -- the existing text and save file.

Can't save new text. I close file and application, and when I re-open, new text is gone; the space is empty. In fact, new text begins to "roll over," after I think I've saved it and before I exit file.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

george

First you might want to make sure the layer is visible... if its completely gone then try to save it as a .PDF and tell me when you open it if the text is still missing.

How are you creating / working with the text? Are you saving a jpeg / gif / png?

The regular text tool creates a new layer, and leaves it visible by default. If you use save for web or device it will automatically flatten the layers for you; save as will ask what you want to do with layers. You might be saving only the background layer?

My bet is that you should check what mode it's in. If it's a .gif in index mode you can't save changes to it. You have to change it to RGB color for web, or CMYK color for print.

first i think you should check to see if your using a true type font. then i will replace the font in your folder, then i open cs3 back up and then it should be there if not im not a hard ware or software tech guy but when its there type out your text like everyone else said to do and then flatten and save it as a pdf or out as a flatten jpeg me i would save it as a tiff or a png. and thats with no background just that one layer. and then bring the pic back in and work on my background and finish the project. i hope this helps others that have the same problem and gives some newbies a way to preserve transparently. i haven't had the problem while working with cs3 but i did have a problem like this working with cs2
