I'm using the vertical type tool. How do I shring the spacing between the letters I'm typing --without squashing the whole thing? I've looked in the help file and it doesn't seem to relate this information with search strings like "decrease spacing between letters ...text ...type ...etc".
Thanks in advance.

look for Kerning & Tracking.
In Photoshop, you'll find them on the "Character" window ( as the AV select boxes). (well it is in PS7 at least) )

I'm sorry chris, I'm using Photoshop Elements 5.0, and I don't know where the "Character" window is. Elements help gives no results with the search string "kerning and tracking". I wish I had told you I have "Elements" at the start.Matt
In Photoshop the kerning (letter spacing) option (The one with the icon of the "AV" with a double sided arrow under it) and press the up keyboard key repeatadly to increase space and the down key to decrease letter spacing, how ever .. bad news I'm afraid...
Kerning & Tracking - Not Available
Kerning is the adjustment of the space between two highlighted letters.
Tracking is the adjustment of the spaces between a group of highlighted letters.
Photoshop Elements doesn't support kerning or tracking.
