What's the steps in getting a photo in photoshops?

I know about OPEN,.I do have some photo on a cd.How do I put them in a file? If I download images from a web site ,how Do I put them in a file.?

Do you have a editor like photoshop shop or fireworks?, in tha case open the picture and choose the option ''save as'' then you can choose save as JPG.

staron, you may want to explain more of what you are after.

A photo on a CD is already a file, usually a jpg

If you are referring to copying images from the web onto your hard drive, right-click -> Save Image As or Save Picture As

GOTO

Photoshop > FILE > OPEN > GOTO THE CD DRIVE > DOUBLE CLICK THE IMAGE AND WALLA YOUVE OPENED THE IMAGE .

Also when you have opened the image press ctrl+A then ctrl+C
then make a new file by going to PHOTOHOP > FILE > NEW > DO NOT CHANGE ANY THING .

IN the new document press ctrl+V

And start editing
